Week 5‘s Blog
This week's lab class, we are challenged to protect eggs from breaking when they fall from a high place. We tried four times. The first time, we dropped sand and straw at a distance of 1 meter without breaking them. The second and third times, we dropped them at a distance of 2 meters and they all broke when they popped out of the bowl. The fourth time, we added more sand and rubber to reinforce the bowl, and finally succeeded. This is the first time This is the last time Let me know more about the F=ma. The more gradually the egg slows down, the smaller the force. We also learned the Newton’s Third Law——Forces come in equal pairs, which I learned before when I was in Chinese middle school. It was a good way to represent in the video which show on the lab class. It also demonstrates the influence of buoyancy on the total weight. It is very interesting when see the physical experiment to understand these knowledge.
